New Collection Launched @ Electricsheep!
Written @ 9:01 PM,Wednesday, April 21, 2010
Hey hey hey, it's been a while since i've updated!
Down with bad flu/cough/sore throat/fever and all -_-"

But i've managed to do up a mini collection with some of our manufactured items yesterday!

Do check it out alright? :)

Will update this space soon with reviews on NYX lipsticks in nude shades which i've gotten recently!

Ciao~

My loots for the weekend!
Written @ 1:09 AM,Monday, April 12, 2010
Hm, it's actually my birthday month, and Watsons has this 5 times bonus points for the first purchase of the month. I prepared my super long shopping list in my head. But darn it, when i got there, my mind was in a complete blank -_-

All i knew was that I was low on moisturizer (currently i'm using The Body Shop's Vitamin E Intense Moisturizer) and i wanted something with whitening/brightening.

Heard that ZA has a new and improved range of skincare and i grabbed the True White Cream (S$23.50) to try... Bought Veet Strawberry and Butter Wax and Cleansing Express Makeup Remover (My Holy Grail!) too. Just 3 items! I could have gotten more points seriously... I forgot to grab Loreal's White Perfect Body Lotion & Scrub (i would talk about it next time, it's FAB!)

Yups, i want to compare these 2 items: Etude House's O2 White Lotion (which i've gotten in sample form) and ZA's True White Cream (For normal/dry skin). Of course it's too soon to see the whitening results (if any).

But texture wise, i really prefer Etude House's! It's extremely light, and easily absorbed!
While Za's was a little thick and sticky. I think i would just apply a really thin layer during day time. Probably more suitable as a night cream?

I had True White on just now with light makeup, and headed out for 2 hours. When i got back. It felt so oily and uncomfortable, i just wanted to go and remove my makeup instantly! Gee... :s

As for the moisturizing factor, maybe O2 White has a higher alcohol content compared to True White that's why it's easily absorbed. It doesn't feel drying though, feels just nice. But of course, i guess True White feels more moisturizing. We'll see after a week or so :)

Other loots: A bunch of Etude House products! Everyone notices how dark my eye circles are... and so, i decided to purchase a few of EH's Collagen Eye Patch to try out... i seriously doubt it will work... but i got to try! Who knows :( Maybe i should have it on everyday?

The Green Tea Nose Patch from EH is also highly raved in Cozy Cot forums! It effectively removes those nasty white heads and it has a... funky strong green tea smell haha. Sold for $0.90 in retails, but it's cheaper online :p

If you scroll down, you'll see my review on EH's Ginkgo Lip Patch... I bought a few pieces just to give it another chance LOL.

HABA's staff are really friendly to offer me some samples even when i didn't purchase anything nor showed any interest in their products haha... it was actually my friend getting a few items from them. Shall try it out... soonest!

Funny how after i've got home. I remember my shopping list. GEE.

The Body Shop's Gently Purify range
Written @ 11:00 PM,Friday, March 26, 2010
Today was the first day of my yoga class :)
So glad i signed up for it, if not i would be regretting lol...
So to complete the relaxing evening, i finished off with The Body Shop's Gently Purify range :)

It's my second time using the Clarifying Clay Mask and Refreshing Body Gel. I really love the body clarifying clay mask! In case you don't know about this item yet, let me tell you what it contains!

Rosemary, Lemon and pine, Eucalyptus and Orange - To stimulate, invigorate and refresh the senses
Wasabi extract - Has natural anti-oxidant properties
Dead Sea Mud - Rich in sea salt and minerals to help draw out impurities

As it contains Wasabi and Dead Sea Mud, when you smooth the mask onto your body, you will feel a heating sensation. It's warm and relaxing at the start... after a while, it gets really hot! You're supposed to leave it on for 15mins. But i couldn't tahan as always... and washed it off in like eight or 10 minutes? But the feeling is shiok :)

If you want to maximize the results, use a plastic wrap to wrap up your body. But i guess, that will burn even more and faster? :s

Even though i washed off a little earlier, the results are still fab. My skin looks amazingly clear and brightened... feels extremely smooth and clean too! LOVE! (too bad i only gotten the ones in travel size)

Ok, you'll definitely need to use the Refreshing Body Gel after washing and drying off... because this will cool down the heat caused by the clay mask. It is said to hydrate well, but i doubt so. I'd say hydration wise, it's only 5.5/10. (You want 10/10 of hydration? Use TBS's Body Butter!) I love the smell though... smells very... Thai lol.

Etude House's Ginkgo Lip Patch
Written @ 11:49 PM,Monday, March 22, 2010

I have some bumps below my lips so i thought i give this Ginkgo Lip Patch from Etude House a shot. There were several good reviews about the Green Tea Nose Patch, so i thought this would be equally good as well...

And well... it's not going to pull out your oil bumps overnight like how the Green Tea Nose Patch efficiently removes white heads lol. They both work rather differently.

The Ginkgo Lip Patch has ginkgo leaf extracts to help remove excess residue. So stick the adhesive side onto the area above and below the lips, leave on for 20-30minutes. After which you'll supposedly see that the area has become brightened and rejuvenated... which sadly i saw no results :(

I guess it's not a one time thing. You got to stock up, try it a few times to see the effects? It's quite expensive to get it from Etude House itself in SG k... i suggest you guys buy it off online as it can be 2-3 times cheaper!!!

Nature Republic MD Water Collection
Written @ 11:54 PM,Saturday, March 20, 2010
Looking at the pictures below, i'm so darn shocked at how bad my eye bags look. So a quick post and i'll head to bed!

Everyone's familiar with Skinfood, The Face Shop and Etude House. Another Korean cosmetic and skincare store to take note of is Nature Republic. The shop front isn't as fanciful as Etude House's so sometimes it's easy to just walk past without taking notice. In fact, when i came across the store at 313, i thought it looked boring and uninviting lol.

So far i've only gotten one product from Nature Republic though.
I bought the powder mask - MD Water Collection Brightening Jade Powder (and to be used with 401 MD Water Collection for Functional Effect). Sounds complicated i know... MD stands for Medicinal. And it's their medicinal blend of purified water collected from renowned sources that makes it so special.

Check out the chart about MD water here!

So i just tried out the Powder Mask, which is for brightening and to even out the skin tone.

You can tell from the 'Before' and 'After' pictures. Nope, i did not Photoshop anything, everything is taken under the same lighting! (urgh terrible eye bags!)

Firstly, you have to pour in the powder into the container that's filled with MD water. It's not exactly fuss free... some of the powder spilled out into the sink instead of the container lol.
Messy! But i guess all powder masks are like that?

Next you shake it up a bit, and apply the mask onto your face. I didn't have a brush for it, so i used my fingers to apply gently. After which leave on for about 15mins, and when the mask hardens, wash off with warm water :) You'll see that your face has brightened up instantly!
Also, i like the cooling effect it had on my face. It felt very refreshing and my face was so smoooootttthhhhh!

In fact, you can actually separate the powder and liquid into 2 portions, but you'll need to keep them separately in a container or something, so that you can have enough for 2 usages (since it costs $3.80 for a both powder and MD water, not exactly very cheap for a one time thing).
There was quite a bit of mask, so i used the left overs on my neck to prevent wastage :)

Check out Nature Republic's website here for more products!
You can find their outlets at Junction 8 and Somerset 313 :)

Let's Get Purple
Written @ 11:34 PM,Friday, March 19, 2010
Decided to try out one of my recent buys: The Face Shop's nail polish in PP404 (It's a pale-greyish purple)! If you've watch 'My Style Network', you would know that grey nail polish is cool right now. But if you're just the kind of person who just loves a hint of girliness, try this shade! It's fab and slightly mod :)

In real life the shade's a little darker. Was playing around with the lomo application for iPhone. I love lomo!

For Fridays, i like to do something relaxing... like using a fragrant and soothing shower gel, or body clay mask. It's like i have my own DIY mini spa at home. I'm also thinking of taking up yoga classes on Friday evenings. Don't ask me why i'm not out there in the clubs lol!

I was using Deep Sleep by The Body Shop previously, but i've finished it. So my new love is Divine Calm! It contains pure French lavender and camomile essential oils... very good if you want to relieve all those stress and just prepare for the weekend :)

Lavender's a great scent!
And of course, when you're relaxed, you sleep better :)

Makeover by ZA at Her World's Glass House!
Written @ 12:28 PM,Thursday, March 18, 2010
This is probably one of the highlights in my life. I've never gotten a makeover before and i've always wanted to try it to see how i would look like with my makeup done by professionals!
And i was really lucky to have found out about ZA's makeover at Her World's Glass House (outside Wisma Atria)!

I'm not new to ZA's products... i've tried their skincare range, foundation, blusher and eyeshadow! So i was definitely keen on trying out their new cosmetics for Spring collection!

The cute little glass box! I was rushing and didn't remember to take a picture of it :(
Credits to Her World and HWZ for the picture above.

When i got there, we got started by removing the makeup i had using ZA's Double Cleansing Gel. If i'm going to town, i would never go out with my bare face lol. So yeah, i only did my makeup for the train ride :x

ZA's Double Cleansing Gel is convenient as you don't have to wash it off, but a simple wipe with tissue or cotton pad would do the job just fine. And no weird oily feeling after that! I like :)

Bare-faced me. My makeup artist (Christina) wanted to comment that i had great skin till she saw my terrible eye bags :(

Next step, we got to try out ZA's new Two-Way Foundation (which is why i'm here!)! The previous one (in a blue casing) has been highly raved already, and now ZA came up with an improved version made specially for Asian skin! The results are going to be even better!

Even endorsed by one of my fave models from VIVI magazine: Jun Hasewaga!

ZA's Skin Beauty Two-Way Foundation is said to give you a natural and flawless finish that lasts up to 8hours! Even has the same 8 shades to suit all Asian skin tones perfectly!
And did you know that ZA is actually under Shiseido? :)

The new two-way foundation is already out in Watsons! You got to go and check out the new casing too! It's 10 times prettier compared to the blue case. Looks chic and it has a reflective surface which can be used as a mirror. Ultimate chio-ness :)

Oh! It's really affordable too! And there's 20% off right now in Watsons for ZA's products!!!
So it's about $7.90-$9.90 for the refill, while the casing costs about $13.90(iirc)! Cheap!

The shades are exactly the same as before too! I'm using shade #21 :)
The makeup artist (Christina), didn't even need to test it out on me and she knew that i'm using shade #21! Pro!

Alright, that's me with foundation on! I like the light and matte feeling of it, and it managed to cover up pores pretty well too! Looks natural doesn't it? It's formulated with hyaluronic acid that moisturizes the skin... so worry not about the foundation drying up your skin :)

I also feel that it's friendly for sensitive skin!
My friend who has really bad sensitive skin tested it. If any cosmetics or skincare doesn't suit her, she'll start seeing bumps on her hand within 10 seconds!
And nope, she didn't get any rash! So it's quite safe :)

Christina applying the eyeshadow on for me. She asked me which color have i not used before and would like to try out... and er, i chose...

...green! Sounds funky right. And i always wanted to try out smoky eyes, so Christ did a smoky eye effect for me using ZA's green palette! (feeling adventurous)

And i decided to choose something simple for my lips, so nude's the way to go!

... And finally!

How do you find it? Initially i was afraid that the shade of green would be too striking but it wasn't, and that's great! So yup, play around with colors! Smokey eyes don't necessary always have to be in boring black!

ZA has a nice range of other colors like violet, blue, gold, silver and green to choose from! And each palette has four gradation which allows you to create dramatic and impressive eyes! Nice!

After i was done, i was whisked away unexpectedly into REDKEN's corner to get my hair done. (Hair and makeup done in a day, so awesome! More ever FOC for bloggers!)

While i was getting my hair curled, my lucky friend here also got to do her makeup by ZA! She and her PR skills lol... and also the staffs were friendly and willing to do it for her when she didn't even book an appointment! :)

Ok you can see my makeup better in this picture above as the lighting was brighter here!

Half way through curling... I was quite excited to see how it'll turn out to be actually.
Because i've never gotten my hair curled before! I was even contemplating on getting a curling iron before CNY but never got to it lol.

Almost done now...
And...

I look 20years older with the strong curls! Took me a lot of courage to post this picture up k...

Both of us with our similar makeup and hairdo :)
Nice looking flawless skin thanks to ZA's new foundation! It's better than my current foundation and has SPF 20 PA++ (i'm all mad about being fair now)! So i'm definitely getting this when my current one hits the pan!

I like the curls on my friend better though!
For me, i was pulling it, trying to loosen it up lol!
I always prefer loose curls... like this!

It was taken at the end of the day lar... see those horrible eye bags?
I really need to sleep early! :(

Oh... and my purchases... Loreal's Whitening Lotion, Masks from Nature Republic, Etude House and SaSa, nail polishes from The Face Shop!

Well, to wrap up... I'm sure me and my friend had a wonderful experience today~
Thanks ZA and Her World!

Swing down to Her World's Glass House (5th-25th of March) if you're interested to check out the various brands like ZA, REDKEN, and Hansel! More information here!

Rachel Cooks
Written @ 10:14 PM,Monday, March 15, 2010
Well, no one was going to be home for dinner except for me and my dad so i decided to COOK!
Everyone in my family can cook... grandpa, grandma, mum, including my brother. Me and my dad? We sit back, wait and eat :)

Before i start sounding lazy, hear me out. My brother has just graduated as a chef, and has worked in Shangri La hotel before. So why would i try and cook right? Everybody wants to eat his food. But once in awhile. I get adventurous and i'll try to mess the kitchen up a bit :)

Not everything turns out disastrous you know... except for that one time 2 years back when i was HOSTING a Christmas party. Yeah... act smart, didn't do any 'practicing' before hand and my pasta sauce turned out pretty bland. Very paiseh. Lucky it was pot-luck lol. Next time i'll just call for Mcdonalds or KFC should i have to cook for more than 2 people!

I'm still quite proud of the Kimchi Baked Rice i made several years ago. God knows how i decided that kimchi and cheese would be a fab combination! When my mum makes or buys kimchi, i'll do a post on it! *yums*

Hmm... anyway, what i made today: Pan Seared Salmon with Mash.
I've never cooked salmon before lol. I had to make do with salmon belly (which is usually for teriyaki) in fact.

Seasoning the salmon. Salt, ground pepper, rosemary leaves and lemon juice.

The mash potato. Tedious work k! i didn't boil them long enough, so i had a good exercise trying to mash them up. Tasted yummy so that's all that matters!

And the final results...

The green stuff are basil pesto sauce! Good stuff! Love it and i usually apply them onto toast for a snack :)

Yes it's edible!
But sorry dad, yours was slightly overcooked. :x

Daily Fresh Wash Off Pack
Written @ 9:22 PM,Saturday, March 13, 2010

This cute little bottle-liked thing got me attracted to it when i was at Sasa!
Sorry i'm a sucker for cute packaging :x and i'm always gamed to try out different kinds of masks!

It's actually a rinse off mask!
The first time i tried it, i fell in love with the fragrant! I would describe it as fruitilicious lol. It's so relaxing and calming once you've applied the mask onto your face... smells totally like the berry yogurt drink! Yummy~ Oh, and it actually has some fruit bits in it too! :p

The end results? Satisfactory for something that costs only $1.90!
My face feels soft and brightened up by a bit after the first application.

Though it says daily mask, i'm not sure if the whole packet is for a one time usage?
In my opinion, it's enough to be used 3 times :)
So apply the amount needed for your face, then store the balance in the fridge!

When i go down to Sasa again, i'm going to try out the other flavors!

2nd Round!
Written @ 4:26 PM,Friday, March 12, 2010
Yes, i went back to The Body Shop warehouse sale in the morning!
I actually woke up at 8.30am, and had no breakfast and lunch! The power of shopping lol!

It's good to go early you know :)
This time i managed to browse the cosmetic/makeup section comfortably! I was so tempted by the blushers and brushes... but but but, i don't exactly need them yet... (Who knows i may go back again tomorrow and grab them?) Managed to get the highly raved mini Radiant Highlighter and a lip gloss, both for $10!

The crowd wasn't as bad as Day 1. But maybe because i went there before lunch hour. I was so afraid that the peeps from the IT fair would pop over. Luckily, the location is quite secluded and there wasn't any publicity in that area :D

Here's all of my loots which i've gotten from the last 2 trips!

Olive Scrub madness. Love it, but not all 4 containers are mine!

And if you spend $65 and above, you get this free Body Moisturizer from the Spa Wisdom Morocco range! :)
But it's only applicable to the first 500 customers! So you really got to go early if you want the freebie!

I hearts my loots... can't wait to try them all out! Especially this Clarifying Clay Mask and Refreshing Body Gel, both have WASABI in them. Funky right... haha! Just have to find a way not to make a mess when i'm using the body clay mask... you got to wait for 15minutes... so i'm supposed to stand in the bathroom during that time? Hm... lol.

Well, total damage done: almost $140 *sobs*
After all that shopping, i skipped my fave Subway lunch and went home for instant noodles instead... pfft.

The Body Shop Warehouse Sale!
Written @ 8:45 PM,Thursday, March 11, 2010

Some of the items i got from the sale! Body scrubs were top on my list so i grabbed 2. So was body butter! In the end i gave my grandma one Satsuma Body Butter. And gave my mum one Pink Grapefruit Body Butter and one Olive Body Scrub(my fave of all)!

So few items and the damage was almost S$92! It could have been more, but thank goodness i rounded up the ones i really needed...

BUT! I'm going back there tomorrow omg. I have this terrible love for the Olive Body Scrubs! I want to stock up so that i can scrub like mad without worrying much lol. You know how scrubs can actually dry out our skin if we scrub too much? This Olive Body Scrub works wonders i tell you... it leaves your skin moisturized, clean and smooth! Mad loves!

I've tried the Warming Mineral Mask last night too! I think i prefer this to Neutrogena's Warming Treatment... well, i'll review when i have this on next time :)

Can't wait for tomorrow! I'm going in the morning, so i hope the crowd won't be that bad... I hope the bronzers are still available. The cosmetic section is just crazily chaotic, that it's so hard to infiltrate the crowd just to take a look at the stuffs! Grr...

Good luck to moi.
